Why explore another planet or a satellite..
Humans have always been facing this big question of why to travel to space, why explore a different planet, why go on an asteroid, why discover or research a satellite and many more such open queries.
Most of the times - these are answered by the mankind's nature to explore and of human being as an explorer which is good but then sometimes just being an explorer might not be sufficient to spend a fortune to go over to another place far beyond.
Think it is high time - we as human beings and people of the earth with far better mental IQ of envisioning a prospect for business should be able to structure in the desired mathematical touch needed to build in the need for travel to some of near satellites or planets.
The most important factor here is the revenue and the kind of benefit human kind might achieve when thinking of establishing a base around the celestial bodies near to earth.
Let's look at this from a different angle and for the purpose of examination let's pick on the moon, the nearest satellite from earth.
As of today so many experiments are being conducted in the field of astronomy using telescopes situated in various parts of the earth. Most of these experiments require the area of around few 100 square miles to be dampened from adjoining electronic activity via some means either by jamming signals or using natural dampness as mountains to make sure that the weakest, faintest signals are received with no distortion on the telescope accurately for analysis. There is huge amount of capital spent in recognising or choosing a place which is favourable for this activity, it should have a range and should be big enough to host the recording instrument. Then there is money spent to make sure that the area is completely dampened from the local signals caused by any electronic or wireless devices like mobile phones or microwave being operated in the near vicinity of the astronomical recording source.
Now think if the above experiment were to be carried out by a recording device kept on moon, it would be much more accurate as there is little electromagnetic disturbance and the results would be more clear and precise. The total transmission time of a signal transmission time from moon to earth is 2.7 seconds which is fairly reasonable to record and process the data on earth.
This is just one of the possibilities once the moon starts to be inhabited by the people of earth for the purpose of conducting such experiments but risk is also a factor here and it is time that the companies start taking few risks to outweigh the benefit factor as compared to here on earth.
This is just one project but there are many such projects which have the potential to generate revenue and research when they start working on moon, hence a moon base is very critical now and although we are already behind in establishing it but not far off using the advantages of it once its up and running. The returns would outweigh the investment here and that would happen quickly because human kind has the capacity to drive the innovation in the direction of consumption which leads to a quicker revenue factor - from such projects.
